Shrewstar slapped his paws around Sapphirekit, his amber eyes glittering with the malice of a hundred slavering dogs. He seemed to toy with her, prod her and claw her life a tiny game of cat and mouse. This knew though, the cat always won. He looked over his lean shoulder at Emberkit. "I am pleased with you." he growled and a grim grin, and his tail brushed against the cold grass. The gray tom could hear it crackle as it shifted. "This prize was well worth your betrayal."

Bows her head "I am sorry lord, I wasn't prepared to kill her" He looked up. A tinge of fear he could feel but it didn't show as he stepped up to his master's shoulder waiting, punishment or command or both

Sapphirekit remained quiet and unstruggling, as she watched the two cats. Her once loved brother, and her evil uncle. She sighed, and tried to gulp, though where Shrewstar held his paw, it was impossible without her throat bursting, so she held it in and let her teeth chatter instead. Was Emberkit really trying to catch me? she thought sadly. Her eyed dimmed, and she closed them, expecting tears tio come. None did, just seething hate for her brother and his new "mentor."

Blueefire panted, her side heaving her breaths short and quick or long and stretching out. Uneven as she ran, to desprate to care. She wanted her daughter, and she wanted her son's murderer, Now.

"Foolish." he hissed through his yellowing teeth, and he roughly clutched the blue point in his jaws around the throat. The cruel leader was holding her tight enough to either puncture a vein and let her bleed her life away or to suffocate her. Some would say, sadly, it did not kill her. The gray tom strode toward the field that seemed to stretch on for eternities. As soon as they were out of the wooded area he dropped the kit at his paws and put a obsessive paw onto her tail. Without looking down he spoke. "If you run, I will pursue, and I will rio your belly open and pull your intestines out mouselength by mouselength." he threatened, the leader's teeth were clenched with the truth to this. Coldly he began to stride near the treeline east again.

Emberkit padded after Shrewstar and veered off to go lay by an oak tree watching his sister "I advise you do as he says" hsi voice was grufrf and if she was closer she would be able to smell the rotten guts and brain smells on his breathe.

Sapphirekit nodded in content as a thousand emotions passed over her face. She went weak in the knees, and fell to the ground. Whether it was willfully, or unwillfully, she was glad she did it. As the gray tom strode away, she stared at Emberkit. Happiness and anger flashed over her face in a frantic battle to see who would win. Happiness paused there, and she smiled at him. "Emberkit, it's so good to see you." she whispered. Her voice had changed. It was a bit more raspy, and not as ringing as before. She shook her head and glowered down at her paws, waiting for emberkit to respond.

Blueefire hissed as her paw grazed ocer a rock cuttting her pad but she went on. She didn't know where her mate was, if she found Shrewstar she would need help. She had no doubt about that, she clenched her teeth and ran harder trying to find them.

Owlstar came at an uneven trot behind his mate. His breath was coming in rough gasps, even if he had not been running for very long at all. Hot tears streamed down his face and his ears drooped as if they were about to fall off. He couldn't loose another kin, the old tom's heart faltered and he stumbled. It seemed in the last days his age caught up onto his dark, but youthful spirit. He scented the air with great difficulty and his head swayed from side to side to pick up a scent.

Emberkit grunted. "I cant say the same," he turned away. If she hadnt come she wouldnt been in this mess. He was uncertain of Shrewstars assesemtn of him now, if it was anger or not.

Blueefire skidded to a stop and datrted to the side sniffing the air. She kept on, following a bit slower but with the same despratency as she scented her kit and worse, him.

"No matter what the situation," she began in a low raspy breath. Her words were cut off by a wheezy cough, and her eyes suddenly bulged. They relaxed again, but a blood spot was spreading in her left pupil from a broken vein. "As I was saying, no matter what the situation, I still love you." she finally choked out. Her breathing slowed a bit, and her half-red eye twitched every few seconds.

Emberkit continued to stare away from her. He didn't have a response and he didn't wish to respond. She belived that she still lvoed him, but its not possible. He was someone and something else now and it suited him. He wondered if maybe he had always been like this.
He smelled her blood. He looked over at Shrewstar and flattened his ears "I can't hunt mice or anything else, you teaching me with the kits was the only was i know of" he lowered his gaze to his master.

Blueefire slowed as she neared a darker forest and she looked back, seeing Owlstar she took a step forward. Into the unfamilar place, but she would go to the end of the world to retrieve her daughter.

Shrewstar hit Emberkit's skull, with a loud thwak!. "They don't teach kits anything, just let them frolic in the flowers until they reach six moons." he spat at the ground and moved on, "I'll teach you everything." he assured, in a not to assuring voice.
