Warmth

Firefly lay in the warmth of the sun strached out. Her stomac bulged with the kits she was carrying. She purred, every thing was good now that she had joined the clan. She sat up in an acward position and licked her fur. She let her mind whisk her away as she dreamed about what it will be like when she had her kits. She sighed and continude to day dream streaching out again.

[' ' bubblegum.]

Cloverstream trotted in calmly, and smiled warmly at firefly. In her mouth were multiple herbs that she lay beside the queen. "Here are your herbs for today." she mewed, signalling to tiny pile of frostbitten leaves, stems, and root. She waved her tail, and turned to leave, but stopped abruptly and whisked around as if she had just remembered something. "Oh, and by the way, how are you feeling?" the medicine cat questioned in a sweet and helpful voice. She sat down comfortably, and waited for an answer.

Firefly was about to reply when she felt a sharp pain in her stomach she twisted around to look strait into the medicen cats eyes, her own were wide. As another sharp pain came she knew emidiatly what was happening."Um well i think."Her eyes closed in pain as another sharp pain hit her stomac. The medicen cat would know what she ment she couldnt speek she was trying to stay calm.

[' ' bubblegum.]

Cloverstream's eyes widened, and she nodded in understanding. The graceful she-cat darted out of the den, and came back with a few more herbs, some different then before. She immediately set the herbs on the gorund in front of Firefly, and pointed down. "Eat." she commanded, as she started to rub her paws on the she-cat's stomach, to lossen it, and let her experience less pain in the birth. After she had done this, there was nothing to do but wait.

Firefly licked up the herbs as comanded , she lay thier in pain as her stomac bunched she let out a gasp as one of her kittens came. The pain happened three more times, three little kits were laying next to her she lay thier tiered gasping. But the pain was weaker now going away. She Struggled and began licking her kits gently looking eatch one over as she caught her breath. Their they were each on presous in every way.

Cloverstream smiled warmly at firefly, then at her three kits. Instinctively, she danced over to them, and started to lick them clean and warm. She lay down by the kits to warm them up, and grinned. "What are you going to name them?!" she asked firefly happily.

Firefly looked at her kits the little black one that was snuggled up close to her curlled into a little ball looked like their father."He shall be kalled shadowkit."She mewed her eyes warm as she looked at the little bundle. The next one was a cream colord kit mewling as it searched for her, its eyes tightly shut. She picked it up nudging it to her belly to nurse."She will be called brightkit." She mewed then looked at the last kit.The grey kit was pawing at the ground silently waiting for help, she picked it up."And she will be silentkit." she mewed placing her kit down she watched them quietly as they nursed

Cloverstream nodded, and stood up to leave. "Beautiful names." she commented quietly, and she disappeared out of the den.

Willowstar trotted in the den, looking around. Her eyes immediately were drawn to Firefly and three kits huddled around her belly. "Oh!" she gasped in visible surprise. "What beautiful, strong kits!" She stepped closer and studied the mewling scraps of fur. They were beautiful! There was a pitch black one, a pretty cream-colored one, and a smoky gray one who was the quietest out of the group. Worried about the kit's silence, she nosed the kit gently with her nose. The kit just blinked at her indignantly and she chuckled. "Sorry little one," she laughed.

Firefly looked up from her new bundles as willowstar padded in. "Shes got an aditude." She laughed nudging silentkit closer to her bellie."That one is silentkit."She said as she scotted the little kit closer."The black on is shadowkit, and the cream colored one is brightkit, arnt they lovley." She mewed her voice rich with love as she looked at her new family.

Willowstar purred with amusement. "They are lovely and so precious," she mewed. "One day you'll blink and they will be all grown up." She gazed at the squirming kits a little longer before getting up. Sighing, she meowed, "Excuse me but i have other duties to attend to. How much i would like to sit here and gaze at the darlings...." She shrugged helplessly, letting her words trail off. The leader nodded her head and backed out of the den.

Firefly just nodded."You must be very busy." She looked away from her beautiful little babies for a moment. She would hate to be leader, no kits would be horrible.
