(I think I'm on a mate roll)
Claw That Kills Mouse strode in softly. He jumped upon a solid stone, and he narrowed his bright amber eyes in thought. He flexed his hooked claws and tensed as he noticed the tiny scuttle of prey.
The twitch of movement he went into full hunter mode. His lithe body slid him down the smooth side of the rock and he stalked across the clearing. He shouldered his way through the clustered cats and he stopped at the edge of the forest. Light flitted through the branches as the early buds of life began to sprout from the dead looking trees.
Claw smiled as he saw the velvety head of a plump mouse that had recently been feeding on the new pickings. He shifted his weight between his paws and lowered his head so close the ground, that the grass brushed his chin. The tom growled in suspense.
Squirreltail had been stalking the very same mouse. Her paws touched lightly on forest ground and her yellow eyes narrowed at the mouse and she tensed for the kill.
Claw flexed his claws and he pounced with vigor, thinking of what the mouse would taste like on his tongue.
Squirreltail made a great leap and she saw herself charging into the face of a gray tom cat. The two bashed heads with one another and fell to the forest floor cursing and snarling. "That was my mouse, you mousebrain!" she accused.
The tribe cat jumped to his paws quickly, "You let you hunt my prey!" he snarled, his spine arches and bristling.
"You wanna do it?! Well bring it on, furball!" challenged the red she-cat, "And I know who's losing... you!"
The gray tom seemed bewildered by her strange choice of words, but he growled and prickled all the same. He crouched low and got ready to take down this thin she-cat. His tail lashed menacingly, who was she to take his prey?
Petalpaw barged between the two older cats awkwardly, and set down a the same mouse the two had been hunting. Suddenly, she glanced around her and found herself in a tight position and seemed to shrink. "Um... I caught it..." she hesitated slightly.
Claw sniffed at the mouse then at the thickly furred she-cat then the apposing she-cat who had challenged him. He hefted a long sigh, and shrugged. "You take the mouse..."
