The silver she-kit sat back on her haunches, and stared up into her father's eyes. She grinned sweetly, but underneath was feeling unusually ambitious.
Sunkit had a dead serious look on his face. He had favored the look of a dark grimace ever since that fateful fight. His quick green eyes still flickered with uncontrolled excitement.
Blueefire watched her children her eyes shinnign with pride and excitement. She was smiling broadly and purring. Though her thoughts traveled down a darker path.... Emberkit should be here,
Sapphirekit's tail twitched with slight uneasiness. She continued to stare forward though, fearing that a broken stare would push her back into the nursery.
Emberkit slipped through the shadows. He knew he shouldn't be trailing them but he had an urge too. He peered through the shadows, watching them with deep interest.
Owlstar sat stiffly on a regal stone. His fur was sleek, but still ruffled from the undressed wounds on his side and neck. He hated being controlled with the sticky cobwebs. He frowned at them for a moment, then he let a smile flicker only in his dark green eye.
[Emberkit]His dark green eyes settled on his sister Sapphirekit. He felt an odd trust in her, he felt she would keep his secret. Though he missed her, she was the only one that truly cared for him and enjoyed his company. She was the one that missed him...
Rosekit was pressed against her sturdy brother's side. She smiled slightly but her thoughts were reserved in her eyes. A single, constant twitch in her tail truly revealed her eagerness.
A strange feeling of eye biurning into the back of her fur made the kit's pelt prickle. She glanced behind her swiftly, hoping to see something, but then remembered the fact that she was about to be named an apprentice, and averted her sapphire eyes forward.
Emberkit scrunched downwards and sprang up. He scrambled up the tree his tiny claws digging into the bark. He grunted quietly in the effort for his smaller body. Casting his eyes outwards he watched what was upcoming, he barely noticed his other siblings and his parents.
Blueefire rumbled deep in her through ignoring the urge to perfect her kit's pelts not wanting to embares them. She averted her eyes away from them and looked up to Owlstar.
Owlstar's head lifted slightly upward, tasting the air. His ravaged ears flicked and he returned his attention to his kits. "We shouldn't tarry in your ceremony." he purred loudly, and he stood taller ignoring the twinge of pain in his neck.
Owlstat lifted his scarred head, "Sapphirekit, Sunkit, Rosekit! Please come forward, for this is a proud day for both Riverclan and Thunderclan!" he stole a glance at Blueefire, "For, three new apprentices will be named, and with their naming we know our clan is strong!" he called out.
Blueefire twitched her tail and her right ear flattened for a half second. She remember as well as her kits were becoming apprentices that they were choosing their clan.
Sapphirekit shook her head, recollecting her thoughts, and boldly scampered up towards her father. She stood near him, and waited for her siblings.
Emberkit bit back the urge to rush forward and join them. That life was no longer his, he had a new life. A new path to follow. Though he delayed his departure and he turned back watching. His eyes closing back on Sapphirekit.
Sunkit looked up with wide eyes, almost the size of the moon. He was focused, with a rigid body he watched in gleeful silence.
"Sapphirekit, please step forward!" Owlstar yowled, and in a slightly softer undertone he continued, "And Badgerheart."
A dark ginger tom with blazing green eyes stepped forward. He was the spitting image of Owlstar without as many battle wounds or his father's sheer girth. Also, he had a single white paw, and tail tip.
"Sapphirekit, until you become a warrior, you shall be known as Sapphirepaw!" Owlstar yowled.
Emberkit gazed at Badgerheart, he sized him up for a moment but merely sat down on a tree branch and continued to watch.
The silver kit reluctantly danced forward. She grinned at herr father, then turned to Badgerheart, and cowered a little. He was big.
Owlstar smiled broadly and then tilted his head, "Badgerheart... you are ready for your next apprentice. I hope you pass down your skills of fleetness and power." He finished, and he motioned for them to touch nosed.
Badgerheart bumped noses with her unceremoniously. After touching noses, Badgerheart ignored the new apprentice like a single flea on his pelt.
Sapphirekit glared at her kin, and felt a snarl rising in her chest. She quickly subdued it, but still felt hatred towards this cat who she now had to call "mentor".
Blueefire's eyes sparkled as she wondered who Owlstar had choosen for Sunkit.
Owlstar glared at Badgerheart then he looked down at Sunkit with a proud smile. "Sunkit, and Slatepelt please step forward." He yowled.
The golden orange kit walked forward his paws twitching each time he lifted them. His dark green eyes were alight with glee.
Slatepelt, a sturdy gray tom cat with a steady amber eyes. He was solid and large, and he had licked back his thin fur to define his strong structure and he stepped forward and looked at his master and leader.
Emberkit watched boredly, not trully carying but stayed anyway.-- Blueefire glanced at this Slatepelt, she had never met him befor but he looked well built and a decent mentor.
"Sunkit! From now on, until you have earned your name as a warrior you shall be known as Sunpaw!" Owlstar cried out, and he looked at his warrior. "Slatepelt I hope you can pass your concentration and patience onto his apprentice."
The two of them touched noses and Slatepelt smiled and invited the young cat to sit beside him.
Owlstar did not wait to continue, he purred at his pretty daughter, Rosekit. "Rosekit and Oakgrove please step forward!" Rosekit was immediately on her paws and trotted toward him.
