The jovial young apprentice bounds into the clearing, his black tail waving energetically. A grin was on his brown and black face and he hurriedly dipped his head in respect to his mentor. "Hello Oceanflight!" he meowed.
"Hey Otterpaw! Were doing battle training today!" Oceanflight meowed, "Meet me at the Training Hollow, ok?"
"Awesome!" He bristled with excitement and bolted there.

She slipped in silently. She sheathed her claws, pondering at over what move she would teach him. Back kick? Belly Rake? Or one of my moves?
Otterpaw leaped in, this claws extended, but not ment to hurt anyone. The fur on the back of his neck was fluffed with excitement and he whirled around almost not seeing his mentor. But he did, and he grinned from ear to ear. His tail waved and rippled wildly as he padded over to her.
She let out a purr of amusement. "Ok Otterpaw, today." She looked at his height "You will be learning the death bite."
She raised her tail, "But first, our claws must be sheathed."
The black and brown apprentice sat down warily, "My mother used to say, only wicked cats used that move." he slowly sheathed his claws, looking around.
"Hmmm." She murmured thoughtfully, "Ok, you will learn the belly rake."
"Now watch carefully,"
He perked up again, his brown tipped ears straightened. "Great!" He seemed happy of the more honorable move. "But sometime I'd like to learn about the other move..." He narrowed his eyes to watch.
She crouched down, her tail lightly swishing against the forest floor. She slid forward, quick as a snake, pretending as if a cat were standing there, she slid forward then rolled on her back, slashing with her claws, and slid out, swishing her paw under a front paw, making the cat trip
"We'll learn that move another day Otterpaw." She meowed.
Otterpaw grunted and swished his tail. "Am I supposed to copy you or something?" He asked, with a challenging glint in his eyes. "Or am I supposed to sit and watch?"
She smiled. "You may do the move on me." She stood up to her full height, almost looming over him "Go on," She meowed in amusement
"Alright... but am I really going to expose my belly like that? I thought this move was for when you were pinned..." he eyed her with confusion.
"No, if your enemy has pinned you couldn't slip under him, and when raking your opponents stomach you must be quick, but I suppose you could just rake it as you slid under, and not rolling over. Good thinking Otterpaw." She rested her tail-tip on his shoulder
