The badger plodded in, her broad head swung from side to side as she looked over the cats with a non-caring gaze. Mouse sat in a patch of coarse grass as she licked her long digging claws. She wrinkled her nose as the scent of the cats began to overwhelm her. Mouse yearned for the comforting smells of damp soil and uprooted grass. A broad smile grew on her face and she scoffed the soil. Mouse perked up and sniffed noisily. She couldn't see the lithe brown form of the mouse barely three foxlengths away. All she could do was smell the nose tingling mouse and she charged toward the rodent and scooped it up picking up grass with it. Mouse crunched through the mouse mercilessly and began rooting up the ground looking for grubs.
