Voletooth sullenly trotted on the mint green grasses of the moor. The grass glittered with morning's dew. The windclan cat licked a blade of the juicy grass. Sweet liquid moistened his parch mouth after a brisk run. His jaw lowered to breath in the scents. The cool air touched his scent glands. Nothing of importance. Only the stale scent of rabbit, but it was long gone.
The thundeclan she-cat wandered along. Her mind drifting into the clouds as she strode around aimlessly. Her bright ginger fur was fluffed up against the chilled morning air.
The sleek cat had lowered his droopy eyes to the damp grass again but a strong scent hit him in the face. His head whipped upward. Thunderclan! He bared his amber fangs in aggression. They glinted in the bleak sunlight.
"Trespasser!" He roared, accusingly.
Sparkfire whipped around her face widened in fear and irritation towards her self as she realized her mistake. She took a half step back, trying not to tremble in fear. "I-I..I'm sorry... I was trying to forget some memory's and i got to self absorbed..." she mumbled and thought to her self of how much of a lame excuse that was. She lowered her green eyes and crouched down.
Voletooth circled her slowly. His black tipped tail lashed as he looked over her. A scowl was growing on his face as his paws got very wet from the liquid on the grass. His ears flattened against his head. "I shall take you to my leader, and he will decide your punishment!" Voletooth decided, mostly to himself. Then he muttered to him, "Forgetting memories? Ha! I have one I'll never shake off..." He then added louder, "Follow me!"
Sparkfire followed sullenly like an apprentice who had been caught eating prey befor feeding the clan. Something not to do, and was dis honorable. She had caught the memories part, but didn't feel it in her to intrude. She was in trouble enough already. That's what you get for daydreaming mousebrain. She thought sadly.
The Bengal cat looked back at her, as he walked. Her head was lowered, and she looked guilty. He heaved a heavy sigh, and shook his head. Releasing a prisoner? He had bees in his brain! But he needed to talk to someone.
"Whats your name?" He asked softly.
She looked up at his voice. Blinking in surprise at the almost kindness in his voice. Reluctantly she answered, "Sparkfire."
A shadow of a smile came to his face he continued to walk. "I'm Voletooth." He told her and looked in front of him and sidestepped a rabbit hole. "What were you doing in Windclan territory?"
She shook her fur, still confused at the change of tone. "Like I said... my brain was in the clouds...." she mumbled embarressed. She must seem like some crazy fool to be caught wandering around day dreaming.
Voletooth gave a small chuckle, "I was thinking of some memories of my own." His ears flicked as he glanced at her, "But they aren't pleasant."
Sparkfire shook her head, "Neither were mine..." Not one to care to talk about her self as well as not to intrude. She would rather listen. "... What could be unpleasant?" she asked awkwardly not being able to think of the right words to ask what was wrong. That would have work genuis, what is wrong?
The warrior sighed and smiled grimly. He let out a laugh, it was neither happy nor pleasant. "It was about my poor sister." He told her, "My lovely sister. She was always full of life..." he choked, "until the plague..."
Her eyes clouded, she had heard a bit about the plague. "Your sister?" She prodded gently. "What was her name?"
"Pinetwig." He whispered and he stopped in his tracks. "Her name was Pinetwig, she was the bravest cat I knew."
Sparkfire blinked, "Pinetwig.."
She blinked her eyes remembering the name. She couldn't place where she knew that name from. "Your related to Owlstar." she said bluntly.
"She could make friends with a badger if she tried. She was the most active cat I knew. Ran across the territory every morning!" He looked at her, "Yes, I am related to Owlstar. I never knew my Grandmother though. Only him." Voletooth licked the grass again.
Sparkfire flicked the end of her tail. "So you have like his genes running through you," she realised she sounded stupid but it seemed to distract him. Which she didn't know if it was good or bad but for now..
Voletooth licked his whiskers and continued walking. "I suppose so." he said simply, "Does it matter?"
She shook her head lightly. "I just... I'm related to Blueefire, never mind." She glanced at him, "Pinetwig sounded like the sweetest cat."
He flicked his ears, "She wasn't in the beginning, loud, hyper, the most annoying cat you could come by! But as soon as she had her kittens she settled right down into sweet disposition. I bet it was her mate, hes probably the most mellow fellow ever." Voletooth smiled.
Sparkfire smiled, as he smiled. "Everyone's friend?" she asked.
The Windclan cat stopped and sat down, licking his paw. "Well, she could listen, and you could have a really good conversation with you." He smiled at the Thunderclan cat.
Sparkfire smiled back, "She sounds like she had a great personality and a good thought of life."
A grinned but he faded. Voletooth leaped to his paws, "Sparkfire, I want you to run out of this territory. I don't want to take you to my leader, you've done nothing wrong." He nudged her shoulder. "Quickly!"
She blinked surprise, she dipped her head "Thank you, young one." she mewed swiftly before turning and bounding away and back towards her clearing.
Voletooth smiled and left in the opposite direction.
