Blueefire hesitated at the edge of the pool. She let out a small growl, she felt no respect to Starclan but a leader had to receive their nine lives.
She suck in a breathe and let it out before bending down and lapping up some water. Moving away a little from the edge she curled up and closed her eyes ready for sleep to come.
Blueefire peeked out through her eye lids. She sat up abruptly, and looked around. She was in a large clearing. Starry cats entered the clearing from the forest that surrounded the clearing. Blueefire nearly growled at them but thought better of it.
An unfamiliar shape approaches Blueefire. She smiled softly at her, "I Bracken give you the power of belief," the cat touched noses with Blueefire. "I never knew of Starclan, and to think you were so lucky to grow up in those ways. I ask that you forgive starclan for not being able to help you family."
Blueefire peered at Bracken, "Who are you?"
Bracken smiled faded. "I was your father's true love," She mewed before padding away.
Owlstar stepped forward in easy fluid steps for such a large cat. He carried himself as if he stalked prey, and cast a glance over his shoulder at the alignment of cats behind him. But an easy smile slide onto his face as he approached though it quickly vanished to one of seriousness as he towered over her.
Blueefire blinked and looked up at Owlstar. She wasn't sure what to react to his seriousness, but she smiled at him in greeting.
His torn ears flicked, and his voice was rough though it seemed to carry a purr. "I give you the life of love." He dipped down and pressed his nose to hers, a saucy gleam in his single eye, "Sometimes love is stronger then the sharpest claw."
Blueefire gasped at she felt the strength of the life soar through her. But it faded until it gave her comfort that spread through her body.
The battered ginger tabby smiled again, a open one showing the tip of a single fang. As the other fang was broken. He straightened himself and returned to the ranks of Starclan and glared steadily at the starry cats. They glowed while he was dark.
A bright golden she-cat approached Blueefire after Owlstar departed. "I Goldenrod, give you the life of respect. Use it well. For your clan mates may respect you but you will always need to respect them," she touched noses with Blueefire.
This life wasn't as much of pain, but more like energy that filled her tiredness. Cleared away pain, energy that rejuvenated her.
Goldenrod looked at Blueefire with pain in her eyes, "How could you loose respect for us? Even your own mother..." She said as she padded back to the ranks of the cats.
Fernwhisker walked up to Blueefire, her bushy red brown tail swooshing from side to side. "I Fernwhisker, give you the power of caring. Use it to care for your clanmates," she mewed before touching noses with Blueefire.
Blueefire blinked at the gentleness of this life, than gasped. The gentleness seemed to change into a large whip as it protected the ones that it cared for.
dark gray tom approached Blueefire. "I Coldeyes give you the life of forgiveness, use it. Forgive the ones you love and hold dear, forgive starclan. Forgive yourself," He bent his head and touched noses with his sister.
Blueefire mouth fell open as she felt the sorrow and regret that her brother had felt for all the bad deeds he did.
A pure white tom with bright blue eyes approached Blueefire. His bowed his head, and after a moment Blueefire recognized her great-grandson. "I Blizzardwing give you the life of family. Treat your clan as if they were your closest siblings. Keep them close and protect them," He touched noses with her.
Blueefire felt the life brew within her as there was a swirl of pain, love, and protectiveness. But it settled down to a closeness that made her feel safe.
Blizzardwing turned and left. As the other cat neared he brushed pelts with them before seating him self. Blueefire understood as she saw her grandson, Smallheart. His pelt was no longer ravaged and scared as it had been when he died. "I give you the power of protectiveness. You is for not only your clan but for also yourself, so you can live long and stay with your clan," he mewed before touching noses with her.
Blueefire was swept up in the memory of Smallheart's death. Of how unprotected and weak he felt as he was killed. His sister feinting and running. Wounding him, crippling him till it was too easy to kill him.
Blueefire struggled to stay on her paws and the memory passed, and her vision was blurred as the next cat approached. She was pure black, and had darkness illuminating from her. As her vision cleared Blueefire nearly leapt at the cat in front of her.
Infront of her stood her murdering grandaughter, Slynight. Slynight didn't even look guilty for what she had done. "I, Slynight give you the life of strength but use it well for it can easily be misplaced." she touched noses with Blueefire.
Blueefire was swept into a long memory. Images flickered as Blueefire experienced Slynight killing all the innocents of her family. As she felt strength and power fill her limbs with each kill until it was put to an end...
Blueefire choked. Slynight had used her skills in the wrong way. Even though she didn't feel bad about what she had done, she didn't want for Blueefire to fall to the same fate.
The starry cats, and the few dark cats rose to their paws. "Blueestar! Blueestar!" They chanted together.
