The forest moon hovered above the silent world. At least it seemed silent to most. If one listens hard enough, he would hear the rustle of leaves, the gurgle of the streams, and the rattling of the bushes as wind passes through them. But no cat could hear the soft pawsteps of a cat. The cat who was once forbidden from entering this forest. She was no rogue, loner, or clan cat. She was barely a cat at all. She walked in cats dreams. She brought them horrible shreaks, fear, blood, and tears. She was shadow. She was the Shadow Cat. She was the Nightmare Cat.
The Shadow Cat once was allowed in the forest. Until one night, she was bored and reiked havoc on a poor cat's dreams. The cat saw his clan, his family, and his friends blood fill every river and stream. He saw each face twisted in horrible ways. When he woke up, he could only see the nightmare forrest. He went insane. The leader of the clan had to kill him to save the clan. All of Starclan hated seeing this happen, but the Nightmare Cat was pleased. She had amazing power. The Riverstar, Windstar, Thunderstar, and Shadowstar decided to ban the Nightmare Cat from entering the clans' home. So the Shadow Cat was forced to find other cats to bring nightmares to.
