The little kit pounced around the darkening forest with a big smile on his gray face. He took a leap toward a fluttering leaf his paws outstretched. He big onto the leaf with thorn sharp kitten teeth. He giggled uproariously and rolled around on his back his paws in the air. For the first time in his life he was out on his own. Actually, he had been by himself for a day but he couldn't remember that time anymore. Stingkit rolled out his stomach and yawned loudly. Before traveling deeper into the forest.
The bright ginger pelted she-cat pushed her way through the woods. It was later than normal for her to be out and she wasn't exactly enjoying herself. With a grunt to her self the daughter of the newly made Thunderclan leader bounded further into the woods. She paused as she spotted Stingkit. She breathed in, catching the scent of Thunderclan. "Shouldn't you be at camp young one?"
Sparkfire chuckled and sat down. "I won't say a word," She promised solemnly though amusement flickered in her eyes. She smiled at the kit, "Who is your mother?" She asked, unsure though if she could get an answer from this energetic kit.
The kit flicked a leaf from his ear, immediately going into play mode. He leaped after the leaf as it fluttered in the wind wildly. His paws batted the air, until he realized he had been asked a question. Stingkit blinked at the cat, his tail flicking. "Her name is Rosepaw. Shes the best!" The little gray kit exclaimed, his paws pinning an especially green leaf to the ground.
Sparkfire nose twitched, a habbit of her while she was thinking. Rosepaw... She shrugged. The name didn't jump out at her. Even though they were in the same clan, she herself rarely talked to others. Another habit of hers. She blinked at the young kit, one that she was unknowingly related too. "An apprentice?" She mumured under her breathe in disaproval. "I'm sorry little one. I am terrible with younger generations. Do you perhaps know your mother's parents?" This time she truly feared the kit would be too busy and be ignorant of her question.
Stingkit let out a little roar, before charging into a bush, his claws flailing about trying to catch the leaves that were all around him. It was like he was going through an flashy dream, except everything was green and leafy and he didn't have a huge pile of fat mice. He made a wrong move and tumbled backwards into the she-cats paws with a grunt. He shook his head, letting out a cute sneeze. "Parents? Uh... Blueestar and Owlstar!" He meowed, All this thinking makes me get a head ache... He thought to himself before savaging a piece of moss.
Sparkfire's bottom jaw dropped open in surprised. She stared at the kit for a moment before snapping out of it. It truly didn't matter. The only thing was that sh couldn't belive she had been that cut off from her mother that she would fail to tell her daughter that she had kits. She felt an ire towards her mother built up. She didn't understand why she would feel so much anger for her mother simply for keeping her out of the loop. A small growl escaped from her, Blueestar had forgotten about her other kits! That was the only conclusion that Sparkfire could come up with.
Stingkit looked up from his torn up piece of moss, taking a moment to dislodge some stray tufts from his claws. His blue eyes, that were slowly melting into a pale green looked up to the she-cat. His face was scrunched up in curiosity. He swiveled himself around, and tilted his head. "Who are?" He mewed in a very confused voice, "My mother said not to talk to strangers and I don't even know you name..." A look of knowing passed across his face. "STRANGER!" He squealed and dived into a pile of leaves that failed to hide his bottom.
Sparkfire let out an amused chuckle but bit it off afriad the kit would think she was some creep. "Don't worry little one." Mischief danced over her features, "I don't know your name either so that would make you a stranger!" She exclaimed in fake horror. She dropped her head to the ground. Her bottom still raised in the air as she wrapped her paws over her face covering her eyes.
Stingkit peeked out of his pile of leaves to look at her. He let out a perky giggle and shook brown leaves from his pelt. He pounced forward, his tail waving in the air, it looked as if he might get it all the way to the warrior without tripping then, he stumbled on a twig that made him somersault. But just as quickly as he fell he was up again and leaning on the she-cats paws. "Well, I'm no stranger! I'm Stingkit!" He exclaimed, his blue-green eyes glowing with amusement.
Sparkfire raised on paw. She breathed out a sigh of relif as her introduced himself. She straightened up, "My name is Sparkfire..." she paused thinking about something for a moment, her nose twitched. "I know Blueestar... but I have never met your mother," she informed him keeping a calm facade on. The anger that she felt earlier wasn't even hinted in her voice now, it was carefully locked up untill it could be released at the right time.
"Wow! She comes to the nursery sometimes, its always nice to see her. She lets me play with her tail, but sometimes she tells me to go outside and play." Stingkit didn't seem to appreciate the last part of his words, as he put on an unhappy expression. "They talk a lot too, her and my mother. I don't like it cause, then they speak to me sharply when I pounce on tails." The little grey kit pouted silently, his tail curled around his paws.
A flash of irritation crossed over her. Seems like her mother got along better with her new daughter as well. Lock it away Sparkfire moved her tail to the view of the kit and gave a slight twitch at the end of it. "I don't care if you play with my tail," she mewed while grinning lightly as she thought of the the kits that she nearly had. She would have loved them dearly and closely and play with them non-stop.
"Wow!" The kit immediately took to himself to pounce on Sparkfire's tail. Almost no one offered their tail to him anymore, maybe he was just so amazing that they feared all their fur would fall off if he even touched their tails. He paused looked at the tail, his ears tilted to the side. "I can't attack you tail! Your fur would would all off! All of it!" A look of true horror passed across his face. He wondered how a bald cat would survive the winter.
Sparkfire looked at her tail than at Stingkit. "Aww come on. Then you would never be able to play with another tail again!" She looked at her tail sadly, "It's ok if my fur falls off. You will get to have fun anyways,"
"Really!? Wow!" The kit backed up slowly, his hind-quarters high in the air ready to pounce with all hes got. He stalked, slowly backward the fur on the nape of his neck bristling with the intensity of this moment. In his short kit life, nothing had ever been any more important then this. Stingkit let out a little roar, and charged. With a mouse-length of space left he leaped onto Sparkfire's tail and bit into it with all his might. "Die snake!" He roared, his voice muffled by fur.
Sparkfire stilled her tail. "Oww!" She shrieked. "I feel my fur being burned away!" She slumped to the ground dramaticly. Her ears flattened with defeat "My poor tail!"
"I win! I win!" He leaned over Sparkfire's face, dropping her tail with a bland movement. Stingkit's face looked honestly concerned as his blue eyes glittered with a mixture of guilt, power, and amusement. His tail twitched. "I told you it would happen, you should never deny the brain power of such an accomplished kit as myself." He leaped away and sat in front of her. "Now!" He announced, with a smug face. "I am tired and I require you to take me home, cause I don't know the way." He made patterns in the dirt with his paw, a wary smile on his face.
Sparkfire shook her head. Seeing no harm in this kit knowing her new knowledge she lowered her head. "Stingkit you should be nice to your Aunt," Step-Aunt She corrected but didn't want to give the kit another headache. "Now come on, I'll show you back to camp if you make sure to try to keep from burning other cat's fur off," She turned, and began an easy pace back towards camp
Stingkit pounced around Sparkfire's feet with a gleeful expression. "I promise! I'll make sure no one is furless!" He looked into the canopy, for a moment and just as he looked down a heavy drop of water splashed on his nose. He returned his gaze to the leafy tree-tops with a bewildered expression. Another drop fell. Hitting his dead between the eyes. The kit let out a little squeal and dived beneath Sparkfire's belly. "Rain! I hate getting wet! Raaiin!!"
