The large light gray female kit padded in. Her multiple colored eyes of blue and green danced around the clearing. Her ears twitched, as she tried to guess how many cats were in the clearing. With a huff of frustration she glanced away from the others for a moment, feeling irritation for not being born with a working nose. With a sigh she padded over to one side of the camp and plopped down with her head resting on her paws as she watched the entrance.
Owlstar stood rigid at the border of ThunderClan. He didn't like crossing borders, mostly because of snide comments made against him and always fights to be avoided. He cast a fleeting glance behind him at RiverClan before he plunged into the whirling waters and paddled strongly across. The tom cat gave a small shiver and shook himself silently, beads of crystal water rolling off his sleek ginger pelt. It was ruffled as it quickly dried, but the cold had touched his skin and he was cold. Erupting into a run, he streaked through ThunderClan's territory the trees and undergrowth a blur of green and brown. Even though he was familiar with the territory, he felt a little more nervous with his blind side. His entire left side was only guided by long whiskers. He was glad he knew his way to camp and slowed to a trot before he could collide with a tree or log. He stopped and stood in a shadow before striding into the enemy camp, his head high and proud as his clan was famous for. His ginger fur bristled but it lay flat as he saw a surprising sight. Specklekit! He had thought she was dead.
Specklekit blinked at the new tom that had entered. From the way he moved and took in the Thunderclan camp she could tell that he had a lot of power or once had a lot of power. From his fluffed up fur and his clear nervousness she also guessed he wasn't Thunderclan. She blinked in surprise at her quick assessment of this strange cat, maybe she didn't need a working nose. Is he looking at me? Oh my, he is! She thought in shock, at first not noticing his dark green stare. Who is this creep?
He blinked rapidly, too surprised to speak, much less move. But somehow, his locked muscles shifted and he took a ragged step forward. It was clearly the step to success. And with that paw, his next followed and the next. His eye was gleaming, like a star in the joy of seeing her, he knew his other kits, but he had only seen her once. Where had she been? How was she? Was ThunderClan treating her well? Owlstar's ears twisted around, listening for maybe the voice of his mate or the words that Specklekit might be offering to him but none came. He frowned, but it didn't last long before he broke into another wide smile. He strode forward, but faltered. The crashing realization of things, the sight of no recognition on her face made him believe that she had no idea who he was. Instantly wary of scaring her, he crouched low, with shining eyes. "Specklekit...I'm Owlstar..." He said in a soft voice, ears drooping slightly, with whiskers alert. "I'm your father, do you remember me? I visited you when you very small." He twisted his paw around to make a general size of a young kit, an affectionate smile passed across his face.
She craned her head upwards at her walked forward. She blinked at him for a moment, and then understanding filled her gaze. "O-Owlstar." She cocked her head, repeating his name n her mind a few times. "I like your name," she declared. Purring she jumped to her paws as she failed to see the awkwardness in the situation. "You look a lot like Rustkit," she paused for a moment, "or I guess she looks a lot like you. You have the same fur and same pretty eyes! I like your eyes, are my eyes pretty?"
Owlstar purred lovingly, and nuzzled her flank gently. The warm contact sent shivers down his spine, it was a lovely feeling. Soothing, just to feel her fur on his muzzle, it was soft like velvet but had the feeling that kept in her warmth well. He pulled back and gazed into her odd eyes, and smiled like an adoring father should. “You have beautiful eye, Specklekit, simply gorgeous.” He pressed his nose to hers, eyes glittering in the bleak, leaf-bare sunlight. He enjoyed the light in her eyes, the pureness that they offered. Clear innocence, he wished that all were still like this. He tucked his paws beneath his chest, a gentle look on his face. “My dear, oh, how I’ve missed seeing you along with your siblings,” he dipped his muzzle close to her, showing most of his right face, keeping his eyeless side to himself. “What is happening here in ThunderClan? I have neglected my family.” He murmured, looking at her with an inquisitive eye.
