Cloudheart padded in, upset at the days goings. The cats he traveled with exchanged growled words and insults at the other clans. All they had reverence for was the only cat who could defeat their leader in a claw to claw fight. He sighed as they entered the clearing.
"I mean, he was great, when he alive was alive of course." Greycloud meowed, and picking up a limp frog from the pile. "I heard he went insane though."
"Insane? He didn't insane! He was perfectly sane, he just killed himself." Fawnstep commented with confidence, licking her paws.
"Killed himself!? He had to much to live for to kill himself!" Greycloud yowled in surprise. "You've got bees in your brain!"
Fawnstep laughed at him, "Me? I have bees in my brains? I think you do! He had nothing to live for, he was older then old! He was probably around when the great tree was a sapling!" The she-cat scoffed, not thinking anything else could happen to that war beaten cat.
"You've got a problem with older cats!?" He challenged, "Why! Our leader is just as old as him! They're brothers of the same litter!" The big gray cat tore a leg off the frog he was eating, crunching through the bone.
"Ugh, your such a moron...." Fawnstep breathed.
"What did you call me!?" he bellowed with a full mouth, spraying bits of half chewed frog at her face.
"Great Shadows! Yuck!" Fawnstep yowled in disgust, wiping bits off her face, "Swallow before you yowl!"
The big gray cat swallowed his food, and looked at the silent deputy, Froglegs. "So, how does Shrewstar think he died?" Graycloud asked.
Cloudheart looked expectantly at the withdrawn deputy. He knew of course how Owlstar had died, but he wondered if he should speak up.
The brown and white cat shifted and lifted his nose arrogantly, "Why would I even bring up such a subject? Shrewstar loathes that cat, even in death." Froglegs licked a white paw looking at the three cats, "He was a fool anyway."
Cloudheart gritted his teeth, and growled, "No he wasn't."
The brown and white deputy perked up, "What you say?" He snapped, "Not a fool! Why, he defines the word."
