The old tom, slinked in quietly, his ragged orange fur sticking out in awkward directions. His tongue flicked out, licking his white-hair singed muzzle.
Sunpaw crouched in the shadow, his ear pressed against his skull. His scarred face. Torn ears. Ragged fur. He let a soft moan of despair. He felt more ugly then a stupid badger, he felt hideous. The apprentice hid his ravaged face grievously. He could see an old leader in the distance but he didn't dare approach lest their were horrified by his appearance.
"We are here for an important ceremony," He began slowly, looking around the clearing. He met Sunpaw's gaze, completely un-fased by the cat's wounds. "It shows Kugyay is strong."
"I, Firestar, former leader of ThunderClan and kugyay site owner, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. He has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend him to you as a warrior in his turn." He called, his deep voice booming. "Sunpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior and to protect and defend this Clan, even at the cost of your life?"
The RiverClan leader sat down on his haunches to listen to Firestar make one of his apprentices' a warrior. He smiled, and curled his tail around his front paws. Today is a proud day for Kugyay... and for RiverClan.
Sunpaw crouched silent for a moment, peering out of the shadows anxiously. His long tail lashed with a sudden surge of excitement and he padded slowly out of the shadow, his head bowed looking down at his paws. The scarred tom swallowed hard, and lifted his head toward Firestar. His heart pounded painfully in his chest, feeling the sun warm his damaged face. "I do." His voice quavered slightly but it was confident.
"Then, by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Sunpaw, from this moment you will be known as Suneagle. StarClan honors your bravery, and we welcome you as a full member of RiverClan and Kugyay." He smiled, lowering his head and resting it on the new warrior's head, ready for him to lick his shoulder.
The new warrior let out a strangled purr and went forward to lick Firestar's purr. He felt the chanting fill his heart and soul with a new confidence he hadn't found in himself before his injury. His dark green eyes glowed, resembling his fathers in their mysterious color. Suneage mouth widened into a joyous smile.
"Suneagle! Suneagle!" He called out, happy for the new warrior. "Congrats."
starstorm145: Suneagle Suneagle Suneagle!
Burntfur: Suneagle! Suneagle!!
"Suneagle! Suneagle!" Tunnelstar chanted the new Warriors' name loudly.
Cherryheart: She yowled loudly, "Suneagle!"
: 'Suneagle! SunEagle! Suneagle!" He cheered for his clanmate, rising to his paws.
Mistheart gazed at her Clanmate. "Suneagle! Suneagle! Suneagle! Suneagle!" she chanted proudly.
*her eyes were bright glad that Riverclan was now one warrior stronger* Suneagle Suneagle *she chanted with the other cats*
Firestar: He broke into a crooked grin. "Suneagle! Suneagle!" He changed along with the other cats.
Swiftleaf : "Suneagle!" she medicine cat called out
"Suneagle! Suneagle! Suneagle!" She purred, whiskers twitching as she whatched after Joker. Warmth flooded around her pelt, dread chilling her spine. "Joker?"
The loner she-cat moved forwards, her movements stiff. "Congrats." She purred to Suneagle before stepping back, trotting to Loners./
He rested his tail tip on the new warrior's shoulder, a purr rumbling in his throat. "Congratulations, Suneagle. Serve our clan well."
She shook her head, and bounded over to the orange tom. She slipped over her orange-tipped tail, and she landed on her back behind the new warrior. "Hi! What is you're new name? I got here late," She added.
Her blue eyes shone with excited for the tom, ignoring that fact of his mangled face.
He purred at all the congratulations. His green eyes brimming with life and gratitude. Suneagle had always imagined this day but when it finally came he couldn't believe how invigorating it was. His grin went ear to ear. He lowered his head to the apprentice, "I'm Suneagle." He purred softy, completely forgetting his odd scars.
He dipped his head again to Tunnelstar. "All right. Suneagle." Wishnote looked at the new warrior. "I hope your up to an evening patrol with me and my apprentice." He flicked his tail to Swinepaw.
Suneagle curled his long tail over his white paws with a grin. He had gone silent after whispering his face to the apprentice. His ears pricked looking at the older warrior, his voice was hushed. "What about my vigil tonight?" He whispered to Wishnote.
"I asked Tunnelstar. It's all right. I won't get you to tired out and we'll be back before sunfall. But we better hurry."
"Awesome!" The new warrior jumped up, his tail kinked over his back with excitement. He trotted toward Wishnote, a surprised smile on his face. He reminded himself to stop smiling soon, his scarred face was still tender and slightly scabby. It hadn't been long since his encounter with the wolf, and his face was getting sore. "Where will we be patrolling?" He asked eagerly, ears cocked forward.
